Some of us have been begging God for breakthrough, while ignoring the step of obedience He has already made clear. I have sat with women in this place. I have been the woman in this place.

Praying for something to change. Asking God to move. Wanting clarity, healing, direction, breakthrough. And something I’ve learned is that sometimes, the breakthrough was already teed up. What wasn’t ready yet was the obedience.

The apology. The conversation. The surrender. The forgiveness. The confession. The step of faith.

The thing we keep calling “unanswered” may actually be the thing we already know God has asked us to do. And I say that tenderly, because I know how easy it is to pray for God to move while avoiding the place where He has already spoken.
