Beyond the Room: November Shoe Drive

—

Grace received. Grace extended.

There are times to sit around the table, open our Bibles, ask questions, pray, and learn together. There are times to step into the Reset Room and make space to be with God. But eventually, what God is doing in us should take us beyond the room.

Beyond the Room is simply an invitation to take the grace we have received and extend it to others. Sometimes that will mean serving our neighbors right here at home. Sometimes it may take us farther away. And sometimes it will mean getting on our knees and praying for missionaries, the persecuted Church, and believers around the world.

This November, we’re starting HERE, with a need in our own community.

Visual promoting a Shoe Drive event from November 4 to 18, featuring a person's feet wearing athletic shoes on a textured surface. The text encourages donations of new athletic shoes and socks for school-aged children in Shelby County Schools, emphasizing community support.

From November 4 through November 18, HVHG will be collecting new athletic shoes and new socks for school aged children in Shelby County Schools.

If you ever wonder… What can I faithfully do today? Well, one pair of shoes won’t meet every need in our community, but it can meet the need of one child. And that matters.

So grab a pair of new athletic shoes, add some new socks, let your children help you shop for another child, or invite a friend to participate with you. Together, we can take something we’ve received so freely and allow it to move through our hands into the lives of others.

We will be accepting donations at HVHG small group at East 59 Cafè or by purchasing via Amazon list.

Grace received. Grace extended.

Thank you for going  Beyond the Room.

● About Me
A smiling woman with long brown hair and a striped button-up shirt resting her hands on a wooden table.

I’m Jessica Lee, and my heartbeat is helping women see their lives through the lens of grace. I write and teach from the middle of my own process, inviting women into a slower, steadier way of walking with God. I share from the middle of the mess, not the other side of it, hoping what God is teaching me in real time helps you feel a little less alone on your journey too.
