I am hosting a small HVHG pop up called Serve & Social.

Location: Courts at 51 7445 HWY 51 Sterrett, AL 35147

The idea is simple. Bring your tennis racket, come hit some balls, and enjoy an hour outside together. No pressure, no league, and all skill levels are welcome. Some of us may actually know how to play tennis and some of us (this will be me) may mostly be chasing balls across the court. Both are welcome.

Sometimes serving God looks like big things. Missions trips, organized ministries, or large gatherings. But sometimes it looks like something much simpler. Everyone who comes will bring one canned or non perishable food item. We will collect everything and donate it to the local food pantry.

Current Needs in Shelby Co.

The Hunger Ministry needs the following staple items: cereal, coffee, cornmeal and flour (self- rising), dried beans, grits, jelly (in plastic jars), macaroni and cheese, oatmeal, pasta, pasta sauce (in plastic jars), peanut butter, rice, sugar, household cleaning products, laundry detergent, and personal toiletries of all kinds.

In a small way, we will be practicing our tennis serve while also serving our community.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy, I would love for you to come join us. Just bring a racket, a pantry item, and a willingness to have a little fun.

And if nothing else, we will spend an hour outside together doing something good.
