When the planner is packed, the pressure is rising, and you’re trying to make space for grace in the middle of it all…
Have you ever sat down with a brand-new planner, plugged in all the things, and already felt like you needed a nap?
Same.
I just got a brand-new planner…fresh pages, color-coded pens, the whole thing.
And as I started plugging in dates for the fall… wow.
There’s a lot.
Every square is filling fast.
And it’s not just the calendar, it’s the emotions too.
You know the season I’m talking about:
When you say yes to one more thing, not because you have margin, but because you don’t want to let anyone down.
When you’re afraid that if you say no or pause too long, you’ll fall behind…or worse, your kids will.
Let me offer you a reset, not because life has settled down, but because I’ve learned that grace is what steadies us when it doesn’t.
So if today feels a little too full…
If one kid needs to be at practice, another can’t find their uniform, and your to-do list is laughing at your attempt to get ahead…
Let me whisper something I’ve had to tell myself more than once, and will keep repeating as we ramp up into fall:
You’re not the glue holding everything together.
Grace is.
“For in Him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or power or rulers or authorities, all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” — Colossians 1:17
That includes the stars in the sky,
the planets in orbit,
your overstimulated brain,
your stretched-too-thin schedule,
and your mama heart that’s just doing her best.
You don’t have to carry it all.
You don’t have to say yes to it all.
You can be the one who pauses, even for a minute, and lets grace catch what’s slipping.
You don’t even have to fix it all.
You can just breathe.
Let grace hold what you can’t.
Let’s pray together:
Lord,
Thank You for being the steady One when life gets full.
Help me remember that I don’t have to hold everything on my own…You are holding me, and that’s enough.
Let Your grace cover the places I’ve overextended.
Lead me to peace as I make my schedule,
and help me say no when I need to,
so I can leave room for the best yes’s You have for my family.
And when I show up today, help it be from a place of rest.
Amen.

Need a reset reminder throughout your day?
Thanks for spending a few minutes with me today.
I hope something here met you right where you are, and reminded you that you don’t have to hold it all together. Grace already is.
And because I know the day can get loud and busy again fast,
I made something to help you hold onto that truth:
A set of lock screen wallpapers for your phone …each one a gentle reminder to breathe, pause, and let grace catch what’s slipping.
You can grab them for free by subscribing to The Reset Room…a quiet little corner where I share free resources to help you reset your mind and anchor your heart in truth.
You’re not alone in this.
You’re not behind.
And you’re not the glue…grace is.
I’ll see you back here next week, friend. Until then… stay close.
